At 21, I finally got my Learner's Permit

Praise me!

I studied for three days, and aced it yesterday morning. 41 out of 42 questions correct. First try.

Now I just have to learn to drive. And that scares me.

Congratulations, Sierra Indigo!

Driving is easy. It’s stopping that can be a pain.

A proper amount of fear is a good thing in a driver. You’ll do fine. I worked with a woman a few years ago who was from China and didn’t learn to drive until she was well into her 30s. A friend of mine only learned to drive when she graduated from law school and found a job in L.A.

I only got my driver’s liscense last year, at age 28. And I’ve lived my entire life in California!

I didn’t learn to drive until I was 23.

I didn’t learn to drive till I was over 30.

Well done and congratulations!

I waited until I felt ready to learn how to drive, so I’ve only had my licence since I was 26. I was married before I could drive! People were right, it does give you so much freedom and makes life easier but I don’t regret waiting until I felt ready to do it.

Congrats!

Just remember that all the other drivers are out to kill you, and all the pedestrians are out to kill themselves. Don’t let them do it!

Thank you for this thread. I am 26 and I have never had a driver’s license. I always felt like I was the only one who waited this long.

Like cazzle, I will be married before I drive.

Wow…I was driving at 14 mostly out of necessity. Congratulations, Sierra. Are you driving a manual or automatic transmission?
