The phone will ring at my house. The phone rings EVERY day at 2:50 p.m. Sometimes it’s a wrong number, sometimes someone is looking for one of the kids, sometimes it’s a telemarketer, sometimes it’s the Red Cross asking if one of us can spare some blood. Yesterday it was my daughter, calling to get directions some place.
But fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly and the phone’s gotta ring at 2:50 p.m.
Anyone else have a continuing inexplicable phenomenon happen to them?
One day you should take the phone off the hook (or turn it off) from 2:49 to 2:51 … see how the Powers That Be like it when you mess with them for a change. 
Is the OP on the East Coast? If so, that means it’s mere minutes from now. The suspense is killing me!!!
My inexplicable telephone phenomenon is that every couple of months, someone will call regarding the house that I have for rent. I do not, and have never had, a house for rent. Who is putting my number on their “for rent” signs or newspaper ads? Who, and why???
For a couple of months I would be messages from the school board that so and so was not in school today. Obviously, the little bastard put down a “random” number for contact info.
Sorry to say, I’m in the Midwest, which means it’s not time yet.
However, at exactly 1:50 p.m. (and that would be 2:50 your time.) The phone rang. It was for my duaghter.

Obviously your telephone number is close to the number of a rental agency.
Actually, I’m on the West Coast, so though my mojo may be legendary, it does have its limits.

We have some fool in Bradenton who gave our ph# as hers to BlockBuster. And apparently this person is unable to return her videos in a timely manner. Every once and a while we come home and discover a message for this woman from BB. Problem is that it is a recording-not a human that we could correct the info with-that does not give a “call-back” number. So for about 2wks we get messages every 3rd day about the late videos.
But maybe she has gotten dumped or her act together-no calls lately.
We have gone totally mobile except for local landline. The ringer is off and it is attached to the answering machine [voice mail sucks]. So out of the blue the machine will start up with the out-going message. 5 times out of 6 it will be a hang up call. The sixth call will be a wrong number, Mr. ILC’s mom, or BB for that stupid lady.
Now it really is only moments away! I am eagerly awaiting an update. And yes that does say something about how exciting my life is.
I’m sorry to report that the phone rang at 2:37 p.m. But when 2:50 came around, nothing.
Please continue with your lives. Mine is shattered.

I work right across from Sony HQ. I’m pitching it this afternoon. (if I leave now I can shoot for 2:50PM!)
