At-home COVID tests- anyone try one

We’re cruising, yup, a themed music cruise fully paid for since 2019. We’re required to do a COVID test 48 hrs. prior to boarding. I’m checking the local testing sites and they’re over 48 hours out for results. The cruise line has partnered with a DIY test, that you purchase, and then do while on online proctor watches. They offer results in 15- 25 minutes. The test kit comes with an app that handles the whole thing. Anyone done this?

I did an at-home test kit last week. Pretty simple, takes 10 to 15 minutes, mostly waiting for the result. One line good, two lines bad. The tests aren’t super accurate, so the kit actually comes with two tests that you administer on consecutive days for better results. I suppose one test is better than nothing for the cruise, but it’s not exactly bulletproof.

Is this all they are requiring? I had read that the cruise ships were now all requiring vaccinations as well as a test.

I’ve done this dozens of times - we get free rapid flow home test kits on the NHS. I do one weekly so I can go into the office. It’s not a big deal. I also did both rapid flow and pcr home tests for a trip to Greece recently.

Fully vaxed as well.
