After the shouting was over, he went on his way, and the next night beat his wife to death.
WHAT??? Good grief, tell me that was stuck in there to see who was paying attention!
Nope, actually happened. The Medical Examiner said the official cause of death was heart attack, but the autopsy report listed all the fresh bruises and abrasions from the beating she suffered, ( I still have friends on the force). Local Prosecutor has not yet decided on whether to file charges. On a lighter note, I haven’t wrecked the new truck yet!
My wife has a 2003 Subaru Outback wagon that we bought last year.
In November, she discovered extensive damage to her front bumper cover. It appears that some low-life placed a jack under the front bumper in an attempt to steal the wheels of the car. Fortunately, I had wheel locks installed on the wheels, so the person gave up. Took in for a repair estimate; called insurance company, etc. Total bill came to about $750. I make an appointment to bring the car in to the body shop. (Claim #1)
The weekend before the car went in to the shop, a crack developed across the whole front windshield, beginning at the wiper heater elements. I figured it was a design problem, but the dealer found impact chips in the windshield from road debris. I call the insurance company back, and arrange to get the windshield fixed as well when the car went in to the shop the next day. (Claim #2)
Car gets fixed. My wife is driving her pristine, repaired car back home from the body shop when she has to come to a stop due to a deer running across the road. An instant later, another deer slams into the side of the car! Destroys the side mirror, and does extensive damage to the left side of the car. At least nobody was hurt, though, (including the deer, which staggered off into the woods). Call insurance company for the third claim on this vehicle in three weeks. Damage comes to over $2,500.
Still, all three claims were under comprehensive, which is no-fault, i.e. not due to driver error. For the third claim, the insurance adjuster even noted the deer hair embedded into the seams of the vehicle.
I think back to my step-father years ago, who managed to back one of our family cars into the side of another of our cars. I’m sure his insurance company just loved that…
