I purchased a new car on January 1st. My first new car. It took me a long time to save up for it.
Since that time I’ve had some dick construction workers tear up the plastic around the bottom of the windshield and scratch the hood (and of course none of the three construction companies working there took responsibility). A rock from a passing truck chipped my front windshield. Some asswipe who didn’t look behind him while backing into a parking space scratched up my front bumper. And now, while I was in Barnes and Noble for 10 minutes (looking for the new D&D books, which they didn’'t have) some piece of excrement kicked in the rear top panel of my car. Badly.
If I had seen him doing that I’d probably be facing charges for aggravated assault. I hope you feel better now that you fucked up my car asshole. My first (mostly) new car, that I spend a lot of my hard earned savings getting, and now probably won’t be able to afford to get fixed. My car that looks like crap now. I’m so upset.
People just randomly target you for vandalism, including kicking in your quarter panel? You must live in a really crappy part of town, have terrible luck, or you’re doing something to provoke people, such as cutting them off or flipping them off.
I realize that this is your first newer car, but cars can and will get scratched, scraped, and dinged as a matter of course. These minor things you need to just shrug off as you can’t avoid them unless you keep your car in the garage 24/7.
I’ve never in my life flipped someone off. Nor have I yelled at someone. I drive very defensively, so although I have cut people off inadvertently at some time or another, I haven’t done so in a long time that I can recall.
I’m a nice person, I don’t get into altercations with people. Heck I go out of my way to avoid confrontation most of the time. I just don’t see where the hatred could be coming from. Not that I don’t act like an ass from time to time, but who doesn’t? I don’t act like an ass to strangers however, at least not consciously. Moreover I don’t have any type of relationship with my neighbors good or bad.
Hmmm, I do have a “Darwin” fish on the back of the car. An angry Christian? I doubt it. I’m guessing it was some stupid teenager.
I’m upset at the little bumps and scratches, but I know they come along with the fact of owning a car. But this is just fucked up. You don’t kick other people’s cars like that.
Out of curiosity, how do you know it was kicked by someone, as opposed to some other kind of damage? Is there a big ol’ footprint in the middle of the dent or something?
That’s the problem. You need to get a reputation as a violent sociopath with a nickname like “Kin the Knife” who will dispose of someone for looking at you crosswise. Also, decorate your rear view mirror with a loop of ears taken from your conquests. In general, act like G. Gordon Liddy’s bigger and meaner brother.
Exactly. Big fat footprint. I’ll put up a pick later on tonight. Man I’m so down now. It’s probably going to be more than I can afford to pay to have it fixed properly.
Around here people generally buy an old car for a beater for driving in winter, so they don’t get snow and gravel on their nicer new cars. Maybe the OP should get one too for travelling to this area, which seems to be so troublesome.
Where’s the hate about new cars coming from? It’s not a BMW I’m not rich. It’s KIA fer chrissakes. It felt good to buy it because I saved for months when I got my first serious job. I’m not angry because my $50,000 toy is got a little scratch. I’m pissed because my inexpensive car is 6 months old and some asshole decided to trash it for no good reason.
I suppose I had it coming, right? Fuck you Ghanima.
Ditto man. About 5 years ago I had a my car (it was 6 months old at the time) paintballed on Halloween along with about 6 other cars in my neighborhood. It was just a prank, but it sucked. Wish I had something better than my sympathy and a story to offer you. Sorry.
