At the quarter pole, it's the Triple Crown/Horse Racing Feud!

I dunno - I’ve started a few horse racing threads and this is better than most. They usually die out very quickly.

Also, GREAT title!

I wrote these when I started the feud. I thought “You’re So Vain” would be popular, but only one other person has mentioned it so far.

The pedantic part of me wants to disqualify the #6 answer for Airman Doors and Little Nemo for answering “Aqueduct”. But it’s not exactly common knowledge that the Belmont Stakes was held at Aqueduct from 1963-67 while Belmont Park was being renovated, so their answer is OK.

Remember, Rocket, answers don’t have to be right to win at the feud — you just have to match others, however deluded. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wanted to put Calvin Borel for the jockey, since he’s won two recent Derbys and he’s so damn cute. I was also tempted to put Stevie Cauthen since he was such a sensation here in Kentucky (and in the racing world) back in the '70s, and rode the last Triple Crown winner (Affirmed).

But I didn’t think I’d match anyone, and it looks like I’m right. Pat Day hasn’t matched anyone either!

And thanks.

He was my first thought as well. I think you’re right – we’re at a disadvantage in this game. Alydar was my first choice for #4 but then I reconsidered because Alydar was more famous for not-winning than just outright famous.

If you really want to be pedantic, you can disqualify all of the Ocean’s Eleven answers since Saul and Rusty were at a dog track, not a horse track.

I’m going to drop the ending date of Friday for this feud and just let it run until it reaches 50 players.

We might be here NEXT Derby then!

Well, then we’ll close it in a week. Maybe when the Derby’s on TV, it will drum up some interest.
