At what concert did you first smoke the marijuana?

Boston (in 1977 or 1978)

Little Feat 10/16/1978 Champaign Illinois

I was attending Millikin University in Decature and a few Frat brothers and I made an epic road trip to see Lowell and the boys rock their asses off…they were covering “Waiting for Columbus” on that tour…

I miss Lowell RIP

The Cramps, Glasgow Barrowlands, March 22nd, 1986.

The Cramps weren’t really a weed sort of band, to say the least, but it was an amazing night all the same.

Does it count if it was your own concert? There was a group of stoners we used to perform for who would stick a joint in my mouth during guitar solos. I doubt it made me play any better, probably worse, but for some reason this was a big crowd-pleaser. The first time would have been circa 1994.

Blue Öyster Cult and Black Sabbath (sans Ozzy - Ronny James Dio of Rainbow filled in). There were no long delays between sets, and Sabbath played till 1 AM.

New York Philharmonic and Metropolitan Opera performances frown on audience members lighting up *anything.

I remember that rain very well. When Jagger first walked out onto the stage for the show on November 1, he made some remark about how they thought they’d “have to call for a fucking ark.”

I was in Dallas with a group of friends from West Texas, and we all crashed on the floor of an apartment of another friend one of the guys knew. The day you saw the show was Halloween, and we went out clubbing that night.

I was getting high a long time before I went to a concert, but the first concert I smoked at was Asleep at the Wheel opening for Commander Cody somewhere in California.

Day on the green July 1977. Next to the last Led Zeppelin concert before they quit touring. It was the day of the ahem Bill Graham incident ahem.

Rick Deringer was number 2 and Judas Priest opened.

Smokers are Dopes.

Never.

Nice thread shit.

Bwheeeew. lights a match

1979, Grateful Dead, Portland International Raceway, Portland, Oregon

First time wasn’t at a concert. First time at a concert was The New Riders of the Purple Sage ca. 1982. The band was all so fucking drunk and/or stoned that their performance was shit. So, I figured " what the hell?" And took a hit off every joint that came my way for the rest of the show.

Ha! I was at that show too! Also puffing.
King Crimson was great! Steve Miller was sloppy but a whole lot of fun! And very friendly and chatty with the audience, obviously enjoying himself! I remember him reaching out to shake hands with me and all the rest in the front many times.

I haven’t been to many concerts, and I’m pretty sure no one was sparking up when I saw Herman’s Hermits 40+ years ago.

Nor have I ever smoked the marijuana. In fact, the one time I was with someone who was rolling his own, I was told he preferred to make his own cigarettes rather than buy them, and I was naïve enough to believe it. Honestly, I’m don’t think I even know what pot smells like.

I think so, but I’m not really sure. I was there for Steve Miller and had only a vague idea of who King Crimson was. I do remember being completely blown away by Larks Tongues–I had *never * heard anything like that before. And Wetton–he seemed to be very angry about something, but maybe he was just intense. And that guy sitting on a stool with his guitar, his fingers flying up and down the frets–what was his deal?

You and I must have been standing almost next to each other! My date and I were right up front by the video cameras…although she was sitting on the floor for most of the show.

Mine was just two weeks prior on this same tour, Little Feat at the Springfield MA Civic Center, 9/30/78. My first concert, even! What a scene…everyone was so generous with everything they were holding, be it booze or weed. Great show, great crowd.

I miss Lowell, too. :frowning:

Aerosmith Boston Garden 1978 the weed and hash were flowing freely

Kansas - Greensboro NC, 1979 Pretty sure it was the Monolith Tour.
