The broad survey of human life period has been dully drudgery, and yet that hasn’t stopped fiction from churning out interesting stories.
Your focus on how inappropriate it would be to fit in storylines about so-called “niche case” scenarios is hilarious in the context of The North and South. Very little in that soap opera was realistic. I mean, come on. A rich white woman falling in love with a slave and risking her own life to save him? Somehow that shit is realistic, but not two black people on screen speaking to one another about a subject other than a white hero? You can’t be serious.
