ATT has got to be lying, right?

not for a normal person, no. But for ATT, or any other business, they can think of a new way every 11 seconds.

I disagree – the message is pitched to the audience of folks that have left (or are considering it). AT&T is basically saying “We understand why leaving sounded like a good idea t the time, but we’re actually a better choice, as someone realizes every 11 seconds.”

I would never be caught without a plain phone that works with power out. For one thing I can call the power company to report an outage. Generally, I am not first but it is still worth the effort because they will give me an estimate of when the power is restored, although their estimates are always on the pessimistic side. I guess that is policy.

I think that currently we have four phones plugged in (plus a couple not currently conneccted) to go with three cordless phones that requiire power. I don’t think I know one person that doesn’t have at least one phone that doesn’t work without power.

Oh yes, I don’t have a cellular phone.
