When I bicycle somewhere with my kids (ages 9 and 12), we all ride in the street (or bike lane if available), single file. It’s not that difficult!

Public interest would be better served by keeping asshole bicyclists off their bikes rather than not supporting bike lanes.

I don’t bike because I don’t have a car. I bike because I like biking. At my previous job it was much quicker than driving anyway.

I will not be responding to this post.

But I did forget about recreational biking. That will be allowed but only out in the woods where you bears belong.

The problem is one of education. Notice that we had a person on this thread who was bewildered at the idea of not being able to ride on the sidewalk? That’s because education with regards to bicycling and bicyclists is awful. What little education there is is awful and even makes things worse. The laws are confusingly written and backwards (and written with the intent of getting cyclists off the road.). So no real surprise that it ends up a muddled mess.
