My boyfriend collects old license plates, he has well over a thousand. Our 1-year anniversary is coming up, and I had this great idea to ask my fellow Dopers for help!
If anybody has old license plates, in good or decent condition, I would be willing to pay a few dollars for each one, and pay all shipping costs.
I can’t get tags for him from Ebay, because we would probably end up just bidding against each other! I always scour garage sales for tags for him, but It’s hard to find anything decent where I live.
He really likes any tags that are from southern states, motorcycle tags, any kind of tag that is different from the norm (ie dealer tags, repossessed, trailor, big truck tags), tags that have combinations of letters that make words, and especially tags from places other than the US. Overseas or Mexico dopers, I would
pay for the tag and absolutely all shipping costs.
Please keep in mind that it’s very unlikely that I will want every tag that everyone has, but I thank everyone in advance for all their help! I always know I can come to the SDMB when I need something!
