Attention white people: ITS BLACK HISTORY MONTH. Think.

I didn’t say that - I said you assert the right to think I’m a racist, based on nothing more than your lack of knowledge about what I may or may not have said against racism in the past.

I did. I did a search too. Again, I apologize for not being able to find it. It’s a large thread.

Wow, that’s spot on. Urban Dictionary is smarter than I thought.

It’s the OP. DeMarcus Cousins. NBA star for the Sacramento Kings.

Ah, okay, in the link. Got it.

I don’t know if he should be angry. I’m inclined to say he is seeing things that aren’t there. Is there really no time we can ever put apes or monkeys anywhere near black people and not be accused of making a racist connection between the two? Must we forbid blacks from being zookeepers in the Ape House? Or taking a black friend to see King Kong? Just because a monkey is there doesn’t make it automatically racist.

No. I don’t think concern trolls are often false flag operations. Mostly, it’s people doing it for the lulz or because they really do have a hangup of some sort - in lance’s case, about politeness or decorum or some shit like that.

Once again, I don’t assert the right to say you’re racist. I assert the right to say you’re not anti-racist, based on your non-participation in the trenches here on anti-racist threads coupled with your concern trolling in some of them.

If you were anti-racist, you’d raise your voice, frequently and repeatedly, against Chief Pedant and the scientific racists, against Shagnasty and the other mammy-loving CSA flag lovers, against the brown-hating rightists energized by Trump the Troll King, against the crap moderation here on racism in general. You do none of those things, that I’ve seen, and that’s fine, possibly you’re still sympathetic and shy. But no, you’re not shy at all, you just want to be the tone police - “Oh, I’d be on your side but your attitude puts me off…” Fuck that shit - either *the issues *support your anti-racism, or they don’t. I’m not happy being on the same side as, say, Al Sharpton. But that’s not going to make me not want to be anti-racist.

Yes, that “that I’ve seen” is a big qualifier. One that’s easy to correct. But I suspect if you had the post history to counter it, you, or one of your fans (Hi, Mithrander), would have posted it by now.

He’s not reported as angry. From what I’ve read, “disappointed” seems more like it. From what I’ve read about previous coverage of him, the media would have reported if Cousins in particular was angry. Doubtless the word “temper tantrum” would have been used - 'cos why not go for infantilizing while pushing the Angry Black Man narrative!

And from what position of authority do you feel able to tell this Black man how he should or shouldn’t feel about what he perceived as poorly-thought-out racial tone-deafness?

Lots of times, I’m sure, depending on how it’s done. The first day of Black History Month, on a basketball court, is not one of those times.

I had already adressed this point in my post. The intent is to have someone convicted. You might succeed or not, but that you failed doesn’t make your action any less heinous. An attempted (and failed) murder might get you a lower sentence than a successful one, but you can’t really say that an attempted murder isn’t even close to be as bad as a successful murder. Same with a false accusation.

Besides, you know perfectly well that even if it doesn’t result in a conviction, an accusation of rape is going to wreck havoc in your life (arrest, loss of job, legal costs, forever tarnished reputation because “where there’s smoke, there’s fire”)

So, as I wrote above, would you prefer to be sentenced for rape or to be raped, if given the choice? If you feel that a long jail sentence and all the consequences it entails would be obviously so much better than rape, then fine. But to say the truth, I would doubt you if you told me that you’d take the sentence without a second of hesitation.

Also, you know nothing of my life history, so you should stick to actual arguments.

Ask the guy who can’t understand how it isn’t obvious to anybody that a false accusation isn’t close to as bad as rape or the other who states that anybody thinking otherwise is clearly an idiot.

Just for my information, is there a reason why this false rape accusation discussion isn’t in the false rape accusation discussion thread? — Should false rape accusations be prosecuted seriously as actual rape? - Great Debates - Straight Dope Message Board

What a wonderfully hilarious way to end my conversation with you.

Clearly, it’s because we’ve already solved the problems of racial inequity and sensitivity, and it was time to move on.

I already answered that, in this thread.

Didn’t claim to. Did I quote you, somewhere?

Are you trying to say, as you slink away, that you think just being not racist somehow automatically makes you anti-racist? Because yes, that would be wonderfully hilarious.

So my wife’s been making this “detox juice” in the morning lately, with pineapples and collard greens and ginger and coconut water and I don’t know what else. It’s really not bad, but if I “detox” much more, my ass is going to turn inside-out.

No, I’m walking away after seeing that you still don’t get the point. I have no obligation to prove to you how much effort I’ve made toward fighting racism and all that. Just like you have no obligation to prove you’re a warrior against squashing kittens. You brought that up apparently because it’s something you knew you could “win,” since you would get to be the arbiter of just how much I’m required to say and do to prove I’m an anti-racist hero, according to your standards. It has nothing to do with our discussion.

Bye.

Racist!
