Audio help request- Ipod speakers

Recommend some speakers for Ipods. There are loads out there to choose from and I need some Doper advice. I don’t like to to listen to music on earphones, and I got tired of listening to my new music on my computer. I know I can hook the mp3 player up to a stereo, but I like to know what other options are recommended. Thanks for the help.

I bought what amounts to a clock radio with a docking port from a brand called iLife a few months ago (found it at Best Buy). It’s theoretically portable; it comes with a carrying case, and folds up to fit in that case. The sound quality, for such a little thing (maybe 2" x 6" x 11") is really very good.

I bought my husband a Griffin Evolve about a year ago and it is awesome. It is a bit pricey but, if you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

I have an iHome clock radio and I’m pretty impressed with the quality of the little speakers. I assume their larger speakers would be at least of equal quality. Is there a Best Buy or Future Shop or something near you where they have products on demo? Might be a better way to get an idea of what kind of speakers you like.

I have these Logitech portable speakers and I love them: the volume range is impressive, the sound quality is great, and the remote is very handy.

I have the Bose SoundDock and think the sound is incredible. We no longer use any other stereo components in our living room.

We bought Logitech mm50 portable speakers for our daughter two years ago… they’re the predecessor of the Pure-Fi Anywhere speakers. We got them refurbed for $55 (there was a battery issue that has been worked out).

They’re very nice. They’re about as loud as a clock radio, but with much better sound.

There are several good ratins sites for iPod dock speakers. Here’s one:

Check out all the models rated A- or better.

I have two JBL systems - the radial, which has great sound, but even better looks:

It’s not especially portable and doesn’t take batteries, but can be lifted to move from room to room. It’s also a bit pricey.

I also have the JBL on stage micro:

Quite a tiny little unit that is very portable, if a little underpowered. I bought my in an Apple Store, so I suppose they’re kind of ‘Apple approved’ if that means anything to you.

I’m quite happy with both.

Here’s a little beast from B&W if you’re feeling flush.

The Zeppelin
Haven’t listened to it but B&W makes pretty top-notch stuff.

I have heard the bose sound dock and it sounded surprisingly good.
