Help!

I recently recovered some old stereo equipment from storage and want to set it up in my home office, but I can’t figure out how to connect a BSR equalizer to a Yamaha AX-400U integrated amplifier.

On it’s front the BSR has three switches: Tape Mon, EQ Rec, and Bypass. On It’s Back it has connections for: Tape Mon, Tape Out, Input and Output

The Yamaha on it’s front has switches for Tape Moni 1 and Tape Moni 2. On it’s back it has sets of connectors labeled Tape PB and Rec Out listed as Tape1 and another set of the same listed as Tape2

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

More information needed DasUnterMensch. What are the audio sources? Tuner? Single/twin tape deck? CD player? Phono?

Oh, and is there a separate pre-amp?

Assuming you’re not connecting a tape deck, hook the amplifier Tape PB (tape playback) to the EQ’s Output, and the amplifier Tape Rec Out to the EQ’s Input.

On the EQ, if Tape Mon is activated, input will come from the EQ’s Tape Mon input, otherwise it will come from Input. With EQ Rec active, the Input will go through the EQ before being sent to Tape Out, otherwise it will pass straight through. If Bypass is active, the selected input (from the Tape Mon switch) will go directly to Output, otherwise it will go through the EQ first.

On the Amp, if Tape Moni 1 is active, input will come from Tape PB on Tape1, otherwise it will come from the selected source. Likewise for Tape2.

To get a source from the selector (i.e. Tuner) to go through the EQ to the output, set both Tape Moni switches off, and turn off all the three switches on the EQ.

Thanks for the reply.

The sources are CD and tuner. As for pre amp I’m not sure if I’d recognize it if it crawled up my leg.

NeedAHobby:

It worked !

Mucho great thanks. Every time I listen to it I’ll think of you

I’d go with NeedAHobby’s answer.

On preview: way too late.

Thanks to you too Desmostylus.
