What happened to it? I’ve been to 6 large liquor stores here [Milwaukee, WI] including a specialty store, and no one has it. The managers just shrug and tell me their distributor hasn’t stocked it lately. Any clues? Please don’t tell me they stopped making it!

“Adios Augsburger? Nope, the brand is simply moving to Miller. In a Byzantine brand move, G. Heileman Brewing Co.
brewed its last batch of Augsburger beer in La Crosse this month and production will move to Miller Brewing in
Milwaukee. Heileman had been purchased by Stroh’s, which in turn was bought out by Pabst Brewing Co. and Miller
who split the Stroh’s labels). Ironically, though Pabst gained the Augsburger label, it will pay Miller to brew the beer at its Milwaukee plant.”
So, why you can’t find it in Milwaukee is a bit of a mystery.
