Aunts Wanted! Beta-chan is looking to adapt

We’ll take grandmas, grandpas or uncles.

Beta-chan is three, and while I speak to her in English, she needs more conversations than with just Daddy. I used to Skype with my family more, but unfortunately . . .

Anyway, what I’d really like is if we could have a Skype video friend who really likes kids and would be up for talking to her for 20 minutes once a week. Since she’s three, conversations don’t necessarily follow linear or even logical lines, but hearing conversations makes a real difference.

I checked with the Mods, and they said it was OK to post this, but for people to PM me any personal information.

Being on Tokyo time, it would have to be early morning for us or in the evenings.

Anyone interested, I’d love to hear from you. And Beta-chan will tell you all about life in Tokyo as a toddler.

Native speakers only, or ESL as well?

ESL is fine as well

Hey, I’d be interested.

No, me!! PM sent, TokyoPlayer. I’m not trying to influence your decision here, but I can offer fine German chocolate if I’m chosen. Plus Gummi bears. Mmmm, chocolate and Gummi bears!

But, you know, whatever. Your call. I’ll just be over here, sitting comfortably, with my stashes of chocolate and Gummi bears.

Oh great, we have to send a PM?

Shall I try to sway things by saying that kids and I draw well together?

Thank you! The nice thing about aunts and uncles is that you don’t have to just have one!

This will be great. I’m writing an article for a bilingual publication on raising kids to speak a minority language, and I’ll be including the before and after starting Skype
