Aurora-Kim Stanley Robinson

It’s on sale for $2.99 today for the Kindle edition, I’ve got long flights to and from London coming up. Worth a cheap purchase or does it spend too much time preaching? There are times I love Kim Stanley Robinson and times I want to throw the book across the room.

BTW, I won’t be throwing my Kindle on the airplane, I like seeing unique sights but jails and courts aren’t on my agenda!

I don’t recall anything “preachy” about it.

I really enjoyed it. It’s still his voice, but I think it’s certainly paced a little tighter then Red, Green, Blue, as an example.

Not his best, but still a fascinating look at generation starships

I don’t think I’d recommend him, as I’m still slogging thru my last purchase from him (2312 or something). Pick up Weir’s Artemis - it just came out.

I am absolutely NOT a fan of KSR, but I loooooved Aurora. Picked it up from the library on a lark, and ended up buying it when it came on sale Kindle edition. I’ll certainly read it again.

Yes, it should have been at least a Hugo finalist for it’s year.
