And now, for some reason, I also have the taste for the song Africa by ToTo. I have no clue why I associate those songs together.

Both of them have substantial stretches where the lyrics don’t refer to the song’s story thread and don’t make a damned lick of sense?

Viz. the entire bloody chorus of Down Under (do we need to call it “the Australian song” from now on in order to avoid being associated with CS implosions?) and bits about Kilimanjaro rising like Olympus above the Serengeti.

I’d never thought about or read through the lyrics to “Africa” before till just now at your prompting. Bloody 'ell. That’s some seriously effed up nonsense.
