Australia Day Plans?

Taking a shot here, but, “I’m one of the few Americans who knows what an “eskie” is.”

Yeah, similar to that, just made of nappy/diaper material. This hat is the real thing though: none of that foo-foo surf brand nonsense!

Cost me $3.

'kin oath? :stuck_out_tongue:

Will also be flying the (Eureka) flag as usual.

Jack. That’s what I’ll be celebrating, like a true Aussie, I’m apathetic enough not to care, but I do appreciate the Monday off (even though it’s the 27th).

I was actually tempted to organise a CoastDope BBQ, but I figured it would all fall through without at least two months notice

I never do anything special on Australia day, except make sure I have all the school books covered, the lunch stuff in the fridge, shorts and shoes that fit kids who have grown centimetres over summer…

To me it is just the long weekend before school goes back. Not very patriotic of me

I’ll be doing the usual, a bbq somewhere. We haven’t decided who the lucky host will be yet. We’ve decided to boycott the skyworks, due to traffic problems. I used to have a friend who lived in South Perth, so we could just walk down and walk back to party on at his place, but the traitor has moved to England.

Last year a friend organised a Hottest 100 sweepstakes. We all got two entries and whoever got the song ranked highest was the winner. It was a pretty good idea - the competition made the lengthy wait worthwhile.

I’ll probably spend A Day in the company of my radio listening to the Hottest 100. Might invite some mates round so we can protest vocally when songs we don’t like come on.

I go to work, but I’m sure I’ll fit in a snag and a sherbet.
