I’ve been to Oz a couple of times, enjoyed every minute and I’d go back in a heartbeat. My only disappointment was not seeing a Whale Shark on the boat trip I took out of Exmouth.
I must say I was monumentally disappointed with the annual Australia Day Lamb ad on the telly. I never watch commercial TV, so had to check it out on YouTube after our return from the Aus Day celebrations at the local sports club (bouncing castles, sack races, water slides for the kids, pie eating comps for the adults yada yada). Cheapo lamb rolls with gravy and schooners, a fun day had by all despite not winning the MONSTER MEAT TRAY or a bottle of Bundy in the raffle.
But yeah, Sam Kekovich failed to even raise a half-smile with this year’s offering. I feel short-changed.
Happy Invasion Day. And our national anthem should be We are Australian, at least we know the bloody words to this song.
Did you know they don’t celebrate Australia Day in Asia?
They don’t. And they expect this unlucky bastard to do urgent work today, regardless. Sigh.

I know people say Australians are laid back but I always see Australians still getting mad about that Simpsons episode to this day.
