Happy Australia Day to you
Happy Australia Day to you
Watch out for the drop bears
Happy Australia Day to you
Thanks Anne.
Unfortunately, I’m working. At least it’s from home though, so it’s not too bad.
I’m working too, and, unfortunately, not from home. As I biked in today, I was bemused by the lack of traffic - yep, I completely forgot our national holiday. Hey, I have to work, doesn’t everyone else?
Well, after a flight from hell back from Adelaide last night I am bludging today. Oh. and watching the cricket. Enjoy your work.
Drop bears?
You don’t want to know. Really.
i’m an australia day baby (born there, raised canucker). I got a silver spoon at birth
Happy Australia Day to all the Aussies wherever you are.
Btw I’ll be returning to Australia myself in a couple of weeks, ah, land of the Violet Crumble. I’m originally from Adelaide but will be heading for Brisbane this time like a good little Aucklander.
:: stands on head ::
Happy Australia Day!
Violet Crumble and Drop Bears?
The hell?
Violet Crumble… drool you can keep your Crunchies - poor imitation of the Violet Crumble. Also Caramello Koalas and Freddo Frogs rock too.
Yeah been for a swim already and played beach cricket for a while. Now just doing some work before heading down the pub for a few coldies
Damn it!
:: crosses arms and taps foot most irritatedly ::
We’ve been having a very pleasant lunch in the garden. And it’s a lovely day. Sunny but not too hot.
No doubt an afternoon in front of the cricket beckons…
Violet Crumbles are a chocolate bar. They’re chocolate-coated confectionery honeycomb. They come in a violet wrapper.
Mmmmmm! Violet Crumble, Cherry Ripe, Maltesers and Tim Tams! Can’t wait to go home in March and feed my face!
Not to mention Vegemite and cheese on toast!
Wait, you mean the rest of the world doesn’t have this stuff? What kind of lame countries are you people running?
Anyway, my Australia Day has been quite uneventful. I was going to go to a party in Melbourne, but I failed completely to consider that public transport shifts on public holidays. So instead I stayed home, slept in until one in the afternoon, and sat around in my undies all day and ate jelly beans. So it’s been a good day really.
Hope everyone had/is having a good one!
Please accept this gift of a one-day international, neatly gift-wrapped, and all over and done with in time for the evening barbies.
Happy Australia Day to you! I’m so glad to see that the England cricketers are giving you plenty to celebrate!
A day beside the swimming pool, watching the English cricketers be destroyed and humiliated and now “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderome” on the telly. What a day! What a country!
laugh Thanks, Malacandra.
I celebrated our holiday by sleeping through it and getting up at 5pm.
It was patriotic, in its way: I’m choosing to call it a (non-)Performance Art piece entitled “The Aussie Bludger”. Unfortunately performed to an audience of one, who was also sleeping.
