Australia Day

you’re all good, at the time of your post the middle and west of Australia were still on the 26th (I’m in Darwin, and your post was made at 11:15pm my time, you missed South Australia who are an hour ahead of us but got in with WA who are 1:30 behind us.)

What, you don’t get to drink until it’s no longer Australia Day anywhere in the world?

Happy Australia Day to all Ozzies and the people who celebrate with them.

Happy Lunar New Year to all Asians who celebrate the Year of the Ox.

Australia Day marred by brawls and booze

This is what gets me down about Australia Day. And most other days.

What could be more Australian than embracing the Multicultural?

I don’t mind Australia Day (and I’m always in favour of a public holiday) but I really don’t like the whole flag-waving/wearing side of it. I know I’m in Australia; I can’t see any reason why I’d want to go putting up a flag to note the fact, any more than I’d hold up a brick to indicate that I live in a house. Am I proud of my house? Yes. Do I need to go waving the evidence of it at people? Don’t think so!

I guess I suck as a patriot.
