Avatar meet and greet

Inspired by this thread [THREAD=141442]New-ness[/THREAD], I thought it would be interesting to learn about Dopers Avatars. (Yes I’m a RPGer, LARPer, story writer, and general geek, why do you ask?)

EarthStone was created by me as an alter ego almost 15 years ago on a BBS whos name escapes me… One of the Forums on that system had discussions ‘in charector’ of vampires, werewolves, etc. who were always arguing and fighting, so I created the EarthStone Tavern and Inn as a Neutral Ground for any and all to meet and discuss without fear of being attacked.

Here is a (brief) description of his/my history:

I am Stone, the owner and proprietor of the EarthStone Taven and Inn. A creature who looks human but is in fact a rock, a special Rock indeed. The very rock that Merlin placed Excalibur into for many years. Excalibur was forged by the Fae, blessed by God, and spelled into the rock by the son of the devil. Being close to such an item of power for many years, some of that power seeped into the rock and touched an ‘earth spirit’. Once Excalibur was removed, that earth spirit woke up and, missing the contact with the energy of the sword, went in search of it. That earth spirit is me, Stone.

In my travels I made contact with powers Holy, Unholy, Natural, and Fae and I made deals with all of them. I would be a neutral party acting as intermediary between all three. As long as I neither helped nor harmed others (to any real degree), I would be unharmed by the powers of either side and would be virtually invulnerable to most dangers.

I traveled the world seeking experiences and information about the short lived but industrious humans that were slowly changing the (previously) unchangable natural world. Coming to the New World during the founding of Boston, I built a Tavern and have operated it since. Making deals with the Fae, the tavern doors open at times onto other worlds, other dimensions, other planes. The one rule is that none in the tavern shall ever harm another or face my wrath.

Nowadays I tend to stay in the Tavern and listen to the stories of others, but sometimes I will head out journeying, seeking adventure. Strong and resistant to harm, my curiosity is insatiable and I’m likely to poke my nose into anything that catches my eye, confident in my ability to survive the results. Still somewhat naive about humanity, I don’t always act or react as others might expect. All experiences are a joy to… well, to experience and events that others would rather avoid are just as likely to be something I’ll seek out.

If others are willing to share their stories, I’d be interested in reading them.
