No to the idea that the point of avatars was for readily identifying posters.

…don’t be too quick to associate the avatar with the name, as a lot of people (myself included) like to change their’s from time to time.

Apparently, avatars are supposed to be just for fun, duh, rolleyes.

I’m pro-fun, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s a good idea to incorporate any kind of fun anywhere.
