Lemme tell ya, I really do NOT care for dark colored carpet at all. In general I prefer hardwood to carpet, but once someone has made the unfortunate decision to go with carpeted flooring, I have a preference. While I understand that it’s harder to keep light colors clean and pretty looking, I feel they make the room look more alive. Some people don’t care for this aesthetic aspect of things, and even worse, some people actually like the way dark colored carpets look.
My friend told me her ex boyfriend had dark brown carpets. Now I’ve never met her ex-boyfriend, and never have to go to his apartment for any reason, but I HATE him because he is stupid and wrong.

Most of those boards just enable avatars because that’s what you’re “supposed” to do, and the administrators don’t really care one way or another. And that’s perfectly fine. That in itself doesn’t mean it’s a shit forum, nor do all it’s posters have to be shit posters.
It goes something like this:
“Oh, they use avatars on this forum… I guess I should find an image for mine” = normal person.
“Oh boy! They use avatars on this forum! Finally a way to ensure everyone knows who my favorite fiction character is!” = horrible attention whore.
