I got an Email from Columbia house for a preorder of the Avengers animated Movie.
Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Giant Man
Thats pretty dated since Hulk wasn’t in the Avengers very long and Giant man hasn’t been around for a while. Has anyone seen or heard anything about the movie? How’s the animation.?Stroy line? I was an Avenger fan as a kid.

Despite being called the Avengers, it’s not really the Avengers. It’s the Ultimates (the Avengers analogue in the Ultimate universe.). It’s rated PG-13, so it’s probably mostly in keeping with the comic. The trailer suggests it might follow the story of Vol. 1. Animation doesn’t look too bad.
(The full roster is Cap, Giant Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Wasp, Thor, and Black Widow. And Nick Fury (the Ultimates/Ultimate Avengers are a part of SHIELD).)

The original Avengers started with a similar lineup back in the 60s when they found Cap in the Ice. I’d love to see some more classic superhero stories done with the new Computer graphics. They had such good stories.
The Dark Knight returns would be cool as well as Super Wars

It sounds like Captain America is still in high school. But I am looking forward to seeing the re-vamped Wasp (Jan Pym).
Is Nick Fury an African American now? How did that happen? Couldn’t listen to the voices at work. It looks about average Sat. Morn. Cartoon level of animation, but if the story is pretty well told, I’d pay to see it (probably rent it before I buy it though).
It happened because Mama Fury and Daddy Fury were black.
This is Ultimate Nick Fury, not Original Flavour. Totally different character.
Was that Gray Hulk? I thought the Ultimate Hulk was still green.
All I know is that if the Hulk either kills, eats, or rapes Freddie Prinze, Jr. this will be the greatest animated film of all time.
I also wonder if they’ll follow up with other movies according to the Ultimates storyline. I’m excited about next issue.
There is no way that an animated Emma Peel could ever do justice to the original.
Only in his first appearance in Ultimate Marvel Team-Up. After that, Banner tested himself a few more times(off panel apparently) and went grey. Kinda the opposite of mainstream MU.
Yeah, but I could see an animated Mrs. Peel beating the Uma Thurman version 12 ways from Sunday.
Am I the only person who saw the thread title and thought it was about the old Marvel Superheroes animated show?
I actually picked up several of these in VHS, knowing how terrible they were. No matter how awful, they’re still fun.
I was really hoping that this new Aveners movie would be done in that same style using real art from the Ultimates comic.
A recent GI JOE DVD used a very similar style to the old old marvel toons.
Oh, good lord, am I glad they didn’t do that.
The art style of the movie doesn’t entirely go with the style of story, but it’s not too bad, and Hitch’s art is way, way too static to translate into animation. (Also way too static to be good in a comic book, IMO, but that’s beside the point.)
Did you know that actress ?? married JAmes Bond in the Movie between Connery and Moore, and was killed by enemy agents shortly after the wedding.
