My current employer purchased a multiple year AVG Business licence from a “reseller” the other year. It is coming up due in a couple months and they are now calling asking us to renew and tempting him with discounts. I’m wondering, wouldn’t it be cheaper just to buy straight from AVG themselves?
Is it ever cheaper to buy software licences from resellers?
In my experience (not with AVG but with other programs), the software publisher sells the software only at list price, while resellers offer various discounts. I think the idea is that the publisher does not want to compete with its resellers.
