Avid Outdoor brand tent advice needed, please help

Greetings,

I recently purchased a tent on E-bay after learning that I would have to share one with a very dear, but somewhat hygienically challenged friend, if I did not bring my own for next weeks camping trip. The tent I purchased is an Avid Outdoor two person dome tent, Model 2009. I cannot find any information about it on the Net. Does anyone have one? If so, how does it do for “light” camping trips? I just need it for one night of camping in what should be a warm and dry climate. These things were not recalled because they turn into flaming canvas infernos at the smallest spark, were they?!!! Will dew leak into the tent?

I suspect that if it had insta-light properties, it would have shown up on your web search. (Just remember to build your campfire outside the tent–it is not a tipi.)

This would appear to be your tent’s big brother. The details of manufacture and material are probably the same.

That’s the tent! It seems there are none availabe for purchase. Hopefully, this is because they are such good, little tents that they sell quickly. :slight_smile: My brother said this is a Kmart brand, though I am not able to find them at any major stores.

Yes, open flames inside of tents are a bad idea. I went camping a few years ago with somebody who had a real tipi that burnt. Nobody was hurt.
