I saw a bottle of Jaime Oliver Avocado Oil oil in Albertsons a couple weeks ago & made a mental note to but it on my next OT payday (it ain’t cheap!). A: Both were considerably less well known in 1994 than they are today.

Here is a link to a very brief reference on avacado oil. It appears that there was a limited market for avacado oil as far back as 1971. Given Unca Cece’s propensity for hyperbole, I think that’s pretty much what he was saying.
