Awesome Discovery in my Cupboard

Okay, I have pictures! These are really beautiful cupsand they make a beautiful set. Here is the symbolfrom the bottom of the cups and saucers.

Heh. I found a $10.00 yesterday in the pocket of a jacket I haven’t worn in a couple of weeks. Still, the OP’s got both of us beat by a fair margin.

Nice discovery, Pbbth, and one of the benefits of having a really tall SO!

Wait so of all of these tea cups, 5 of them were in pristine condition, having been carefully set aside and ignored for decades, and one of them has been scooping cat poo? I’m not sure if you want to go for full disclosure when you put up your ebay ad.

Antiques Roadshow is a hot ticket – you have to enter yourself in a ticket lottery months ahead of time to have a chance of getting in for an appraisal. Crankyasanoldma’s been; she could probably tell you more.

Cat food. Much better, though still a tiny bit nasty.

From the shape, I believe those are chocolate cups. Hard to say because you’re shooting down at them. But they look quite tall and thin compared to regular teacups? Probably for chocolate.

Very graceful cups - hope it’s a lucrative find for you.

When we bought our first sailboat and were cleaning out the lockers, we found a leg.

OK, a prosthetic, but it was still a leg. The previous owner had lost his leg in a motorcycling accident years before. We called him and he told us we could keep it. It was his “dancin’ leg” and it didn’t fit very well.

We’ve still got it - in the attic, I think. It’s been a Halloween accessory a couple of times.

Coolest thing left behind for me was a 3 foot long taxidermically-stuffed alligator.

My best find was in an apartment in Parkdale (west Toronto). On a high shelf in an unlit closet was a 7/8 full jeroboam of Grand Marnier.

the best thing in our house left by the previous owners was a bong.

it had an integrated spark-plug…

i tossed it.

OP - Congratulations on your find - those cups are truly lovely.

FCM - I’ll see your leg and raise you a tit! Also found on a boat we cleaned up after the occupant got deported. It was under the pillow. He left in a rush and probably didn’t have the guts to say: “Hold on officer, I left a rubber breast on board”. It was just one, we couldn’t tell if it was left or right.
