… when little Annie Bear was … little, so I assume the babies are born in late Winter/early Spring. I don’t have a picture, but Annie Bear (they named her after my mom, and that’s my mom’s leg in the pics) is nearly full-grown now.
I’ll admit it would help if there was something in the new photos to give a better sense of scale.
Oooh, look at you little sweet-ums bears! Aren’t you just so cute! Here, let me pick you up and cuddle with you. Oh look; here comes your mama bear and she wants to play, too. My, she can run can’t she? She is so AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaahhhh! My spleen!!!
I checked my mom’s blog where she has one of the pics posted and more info:
“They’ve grown so much from the tiny 3 month old cubs we first saw in early May. They are about 7 months old now. After their year in Babyland they will spend 2 more years together in the kindergarten or teenage area before they are large enough to join the BIG bears in the drive-through section of the park.”
I was drivin’ up the ALCAN one time and all of a sudden saw two little bitty ol’ black bears right beside the road. I braked, backed up, rolled down the window and looked upon two of the cutest little baby bears you ever did see. Curious, I got out, looked around for Momma, didn’t see her and sidled over to get a better look. Still cautious, I looked around again and there coming up from behind me and approaching fast was their Momma. I wish I could have stayed longer for they were The Squeee but it was high time to book it.
