Baby Carrots & Leftover Bits

So, I know that they make baby carrots by chopping up off-size or oddly shaped regular carrots and whittling them down into their appealing no-work size and shape. But what do they do with the leftover bits? Pet food? Vegetable broth? Veggie burgers? All of the above?

Also, I’ve invented this crazy idea that they make the carrots by chopping them up and putting them into something resembling a rock tumbler. Maybe a giant grating drum?

Please help end my obsession with baby carrot production by sharing your vast wealth of knowledge with me!!

thanks,
tictoc

GAH! You learn something new every day! :smack: I was ready to come in here and post that OP was completely insane…that of course baby carrots are grown as baby carrots not whittled down!! Crazy talk! I was thinking about the little tomatoes, little corn, ya’ know!! I was about to say “who knew” but I guess there are those who do/did! :dubious: I’m confused (ha, I almost typed corn-fused - lol!)…I’ll be back to see if anyone adds to this thread! I think I need more caffeine…
