Baby Name Thread - Which Long Form of Elly?

Elena.

My daughters nickname by some is Ellie and her full name is Elissa. So I vote for Eliana because it sounds more girly to me and all the Eloises that I know are over 60.

Another vote for Eleanor, but if you’ve got your heart set on the two options listed, then Eloise.

Eleanor

We don’t love Eleanor enough to use it.

Eliahna looks like a horrible typo-ed mess. I also prefer Eleanor, but with this poll, have to go with Eloise.

We all know how to pronounce Eloise, but there’s a slight risk that some folks will say “Eloyce” or “Eloyze”.

If Eleanor is out of the question, I vote Eliana, no h.

Actually dislike Eliahna. Ick.

Just Elly. Simple.

I’m going to vote for the real name over the made up one any day of the week.

I don’t like nicknames as full names.

Of the two, Eloise. At least it’s recognisable. I’ve never heard of the other one. It looks like one of those weird, made-up “I want my child to be different” names.

But I prefer Eleanor.

Eliana is a perfectly legit Hebrew name that’s crossed over into the general American public over the last ten years; it was the 193rd-most-popular baby girl name last year in the US. It means ‘God has answered me.’

But yeah, drop the H if you’re going with that one.
