Bad Hat Harry

The logos at the end of House are, in order: Bad Hat Harry Productions (already mentioned), Heel and Toe Films (the boot), Shore Z Productions (what appears to be a handwritten letter from a child with a suggestion for an episode- something about an exploding brain or something), and NBC Universal Television (the NBC peacock combined with the Universal globe).

Sorry I keep posting…I have so much to say, but only five minutes to say it in.

The kid jumping off the pier is Lakeshore Entertainment. The man walking down the road is Caravan Pictures.

Imagine Entertainment: Production company founded by Ron Howard. I am unsure of the name’s origin.
Castle Rock: Production company founded by Rob Reiner, now a division of Warner Bros. Name taken from the setting of Stand By Me.
Miramax: Production company founded by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, now a division of The Walt Disney Co. Name taken from the names of the Weinstein’s parents, Miriam and Max.

Good work! Your earlier post rang a bell for me, too, in that there have been any number of occasions when I’ve had a notion for a new thread only to find that just that day (or maybe just that week) somebody else had the same (or very similar) idea. It must be something in the water, the cosmic rays or the Zeitgeist that causes such things. In any case, I hope you’ll expand the scope of this thread with whatever specifics you may have had in mind or with whatever tangents and hijacks you want. Subjects like this fascinate me and I gather there are others with similar bents.

For instance, imagine a Jeopardy! or Trivial Pursuit category with a title like Movie/TV Logos and with either the video or even audio for the various studios and production entities without their names appearing. How many could you name with just the image or the theme?

Some samples:

The Pathe rooster
The RKO Radio tower
The Pegasus jumping into the foreground and becoming a horse in a triangle
The Paramount 22 stars enclosing the mountain peak
The Columbia gal holding the torch

How many version of the Universal globe can you describe?

Other than the big WB in a shield, what other logos has Warner Brothers used?

Add to the list…

Magnificent! Keep 'em coming when you have the time. I sense we are similar in our fascination with such stuff!

Castle Rock has the great lighthouse logo. I love that one.

The dog actually barks after the praise.

The deerstalker was at the end of Remington Steele. There were two others: Hill Street Blues had the kitten in a police uniform and St. Elsewhere had him in scrubs.

The Simpsons’s “Gracie Films” “SHHHHH”

In the 70’s when WB was owned by Gulf + Western, they used a stylized “W” for their logo, but the only example I can find for it is here (you’ll need to scroll down to the Warner Books example).

Aha! I had always wondered whether it had something to do with Stephen King, but had never heard of him being affiliated with them. That connects the dots!

I loved the time, I think Giles was leaving the group, and Willow bought him a little toy monster that looked like the one on the logo and she did the ‘Grrr, argh!’ line while maked it move like the logo.

Me, too. And there’s another lighthouse one for Beacon Films, isn’t there?

One I have to mention because I hate it so much for the insipid music is Fine Line or New Line, whichever it is that has the stupid music that repeats. I seem to recall that somebody relatively well known (and maybe not for his/her musical abilities) “composed” that little monstrosity. Anybody know who I mean?

Great link for logos. Thanks.

And in the final episode of St. Elsewhere, the kitten was lying half out of the circle, as if dead, and had an IV hooked up to it.

We heard an EKG monitor beep a couple of times, then make the “flatline” sound.

The late lamented Orion Pictures had a swirl of stars in a circle that broke away to from the constellation.

Stephen “The A Team” Cannell showed him typing, and then pulling out the page, which flew off to become the logo.

Some more MTM Productions logos (the cat’s name was Mimsy, BTW).

The Bad Hat Harry clip looks like it’s from Angry Alien Productions, who make 30 second (highly condensed!) animated versions of movies. With bunnies.

The first time I saw the CW11 logo my jaw just dropped. Their slogan should be “Cum on over to the CW11”

This is certainly true when I’ve seen the Ubu vanity in recent years, but I could almost swear Trunk’s sequence is how it was originally. Anyone know for sure?

I like the one at the end of “My Name Is Earl”. The production company is something like “Amigos Del Garcia” and it’s always a different person (or persons) wearing a sombrero. The guy must have a lot of friends!

I don’t know if there was an alternate version, but this is the one familiar to me.
