I just finished watching * Blazin Saddles* and I can’t get this line out of my head. It seems like I heard it a million times before but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Was this the first time the line or a version of it was said?
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is the source.
Wow, thanks to you both.
You learn something new every day.
I did not know “disconfirmed” was a word.
Nobody needs stickin’ badges. Even stinkin’ badges, it seems, are a glut on the market.
Gee, for a second there I thought I was getting Pitted for the first time!
I’m kind of glad you don’t post very often. I get that song stuck in my head every time I see your name. At least it’s a good song.
This is one of those often misquoted movie lines. It’s been a while since I’ve seen *The Treasure of the Sierra Madre *but I think the quote is more along the lines of “Badges? We ain’t got no badges. We don’t have to show you no stinkin’ badges.”
Isn’t this a general rule for any film which stars Humphrey Bogart?

The actual quote is:
I cribbed it from AFI’s list of great movie quotes, here .
Heh. That dude’s website fails to mention an appearance of the subject at hand. The 1985 movie Real Genius (with a young Val Kilmer) had the stinking badges line in it somewhere. I know this, and I hate movies and rarely watch them.
