Per Title IX, my class was the first to have both shop and home ec. Prior to 1972, boys took shop and girls took home ec. Most of the boys in my class attended, but refused to do assignments, and the teacher and principal allowed this. Apparently they weren’t thrilled with the change in curriculum.
