Quadripoints of the world.

  1. New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado
  2. Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi and Zacatecas - Mexico
  3. SE Sullivan, SW Adair, NE Linn, NW Macon, Counties in Missouri
  4. Nord-Trondelag and Nordland Counties (Norway) and Vasterbotten and Jamtland Counties (Sweden)
  5. Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Apparently there is a dispute over this one. Nunavut’s boundary has been legally defined as including the “intersection of 60°00’N latitude with 102°00’W longitude, being the intersection of the Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan borders”. The problem is that past surveys were a little off and the border of Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan is not precisely at the point where 60°00’N latitude and 102°00’W longitude meet (it’s actually a few hundred meters away at 59º59’59.6"N and 102º00’22.3"W). So the question has arisen over whether Nunavut’s border is at the latitude and longitude intersection or at the intersection where the other three places meet.

Disputed by whom?
The survey for the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border is off slightly but the NWT/Nunavut border has never been surveyed, therefore by default, the intersection is still a quadripoint.
The erroneous survey would be corrected if ordered but this is unlikely due to it’s remote location and there is no dispute over it’s placement.

Legally, the border is still defined as 60°00’N by 102°00’W and the legislation specifically describes the creation of a precise quadripoint.
