Um. Whats a double double?

In Canada it’s a coffee with two creams and two sugars.

Basketball players are measured in five categories: assists, blocked shots, points, rebounds, and steals. If they get ten or more of any of these in a game it’s a double (as in double digits). If they get ten or more in two of these categories in a game, it’s a double double.

Thanks. Sorry for the hijack. I just had to know.

His first couple of years, rebounds weren’t even recorded as stats. He did it in '50-51, when I was in junior high school.

I was wondering why the opening of the Game of Thrones thread got this whole prep-the-viewing audience megilla and double double–as unknown to me as the plot of GoT–didn’t.

But I figured it as it was something sportsy (hey, at least I decided against National Broadcasting Association), and as usual my shame–what with being a guy and all–forbade me to inquire. So my hat’s off to Leaffan for putting it out there. Comes with being a hockey fan, probably.

I do remember knowing the lineup of the 1970 Knicks, however.

Now, we’ll see if anyone comes up with a 13. I did 9, 11 and 12, However, basketball is far from being the most arcane topic that’s ever graced this board. I can’t name a single video game, rock band, mixed drink or cell phone feature…
