Weird little James Bond history at play here. “Octopussy” and “The Living Daylights” were James Bond stories (not novels); and “The Property of a Lady” was another story. The former two were published as Octopussy and the Living Daylights in one volume in the first edition (1966), though subsequent editions added “The Property of a Lady,” but still under the original title. The 1983 Octopussy movie used elements from “Octopussy” and “The Property of a Lady,” leaving “The Living Daylights” to its own movie, in 1987.
