Some trivia about that movie: one of Falk’s co-stars was Thomas Mitchell, the veteran character actor best known perhaps as Scarlett’s father Gerald O’Hara in GWTW. At the time he was cast for that movie Mitchell was appearing as Lt. Columbo in the Broadway play Prescription Murder. (Mitchell was the second person to play the role; the character had appeared on a TV anthology series a couple of years before.)
