Contrary to urban legend the death footage was not included. His unfilmed scenes were rescripted so that they could be shot with stand-ins, early CGI and footage he’d already filmed.

Also notable for the fact that it was filmed in a prison, and that jazzman Dexter Gordon (who was serving time at the correctional facility for heroin possession) has an uncredited role as a member of the “house band”.

  6. The Silver Chalice (1954) Paul Newman’s first movie. He hated it so much that years later when he learned it was to be shown on TV he took out newpaper ads warning how bad it was and begging people not to watch it. Of course that only propelled it to higher than expected ratings.

  8. Total Eclipse (1995)- arthouse film about the relationship of Verlaine and Rimbaud that would have been forgotten had it not featured frontal and rear nudity by a young Leonardo DiCaprio.

Stills of his nude scenes from the movie were sold to Playgirl when Leo became really big after Titanic. He filed a lawsuit but the case was dismissed as the film’s owners had that right.

  10. War is Hell (1963) – Korean war film playing in The Texas Theater in Dallas when Lee Harvey Oswald hid in the audience after killing JFK.

The film is so unremarkable that on wiki only two of its many actors have their own wiki entries, and the only one you’ve probably heard of is Audie Murphy (who didn’t appear in it but did some narration).
The theater has closed and reopened several times since November 22, 1963, but his seat is still there and duly marked.

That’s funny; I always thought that his first role was in The Graduate, when he played…a bellhop.

No, it was Richard Dreyfuss who made his film debut with a one-line part in The Graduate.

Ford did audition for a part in The Graduate but he didn’t get it.

Additional trivia. Mike Farrell (who would later appear in MASH) made his film debut in The Graduate - playing a bell-hop. But it wasn’t his first acting role as he already had a few TV credits.
