Cohokia Mounds, Illinois Cahokia - Wikipedia
I visited there this year.
I liked seeing them. But I will say that you have to know their context to appreciate them. If you know they’re manmade and are the remains of what was once a major community (at its peak Cohokia was one of the largest cities in the world) they’re impressive. I was probably influenced by the fact that I had recently read some historical novels that were set in Cohokia.
But I will concede it’s not going to be for everyone. The remains are just the landscape; there are no buildings or ruins. I can see people visiting and saying “It’s just some big hills. So what? Let’s go to Saint Louis and see the Arch.”

I visited Lucy a few years back. It’s a surreal experience to be driving through quiet residential suburban streets and arrive at a giant building shaped like an elephant in the middle of the neighbourhood .
