Unnecessary info: David (he never went by and didn’t like the nickname Davy) Crockett is known to have seen the play at least once. Later productions may have inspired the coonskin cap, though originally Nimrod Wildfire’s hat was made of a bobcat and i.r.l. Crockett wore conventional felt hats.
