    Always nice to see Appomattox Court House listed as such; a Civil War Geek nitpick is that it’s often listed as just Appomattox even by scholars who evidently know know App. Court House is the name of the town.

I don’t think the Alamo is a National Site. From what I can tell it’s owned by a non-profit organization called Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Still a mansion but far more comfortable/less grandiose than the Vanderbilt mansion a short drive away). Home Of Franklin D Roosevelt National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service) The main thing I remember about touring it was that FDR’s bedroom was between his mother’s and Eleanor’s, which has to equal a happy arrangement for everybody.
