Bakers Dozen

Wow! We must have all grown up with the same toys!
I didn’t have Star Bird or Pulsar but other kids did.
I have a whole box of Micronauts stored in my basement that I’m gonna give my boys when they’re older.
Sadly, my Dad repoed my Star Wars figures and has them locked up somewhere!?

It suddenly occurs to me we’ve never seen Larry Storch and Mickey Dolenz in the same place at the same time . . . coincidence?

  5. Henny Backus (Jim Backus’s wife - played a native in one episode)
  6. Vito Scotti (Japanese soldier & mad scientist)
Scotti appeared in pretty much every sitcom of the 60s/70s/80s and played Nazorine the baker in The Godfather. I’ve wondered why Coppola, who was fanatical about continuity, didn’t hire him to reprise the role for Godfather 3. Scotti was still working at the time, and Coppola did hire the actor who played Nazorine’s son-in-law Enzo for GF3 and and though he was a successful character actor I doubt his fee would have dented the budget.

Sorry, hijack. The point is Vito Scotti was another actor who put the Asian in Caucasian in the '60s.

Could have been the same thing as Brando and Castellano. Some actors in the first movie saw the box office and decided they wanted outrageous sums to appear in the second (although I don’t know if this was the case with Scotti).

In my opinion, it was a little ungrateful. Coppola was willing to pay his actors a reasonably high salary and the movie had been an ensemble piece with no one star. And Brando should have been grateful for a role that revived his career and Castellano for a role that essentially was his career.

Trivia note: Right after making The Godfather in which he played Pete Clemenza, Richard Castellano was cast as the lead in a short-lived TV series The Super. In the series his son was played by Bruno Kirby. A year later when they were casting for The Godfather Part II Kirby got the part of Pete Clemenza as a young man.
