Total trivia, but something I find ironic is that the hotel where Oscar lived his final days and died is usually described as run-down or third rate. It still exists, now known simply as L’Hotel, and due to renovations and location is now one of the most expensive hotels in Paris with an average room rate of €340-€800 depending on season and room size. Among their prized possessions are some framed “pay your rent or get out” letters written by the 1900 management to Wilde.
