Bands which you feel were criminally underrated:

1. Ride - Incredible melodies and propulsive power, and the most optimistic lyrics you’ll probably ever hear. 1000 Miles.
2. Ookla the Mok --Great filk band, terrific melodies and hilarious lyrics.
3. Blue Öyster Cult - yes, they’re known, but still so very underrated
4. Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band - seen as just a comedy act instead of the real musical talent they were.
5. Acceptance - great music, poetic lyrics; maybe their name was too nice.
6. The Mockers - good original rock, made it big in Europe, but overlooked in US. Plus I know the drummer. Dated him once.
7. Splashdown - Electronica/Trip Hop with kick-ass female vocalist, Melissa Kaplan.
8. Timbuk 3 - Made a lot of good songs but are only remembered for their one big hit.
9. Kitchens of Distinction - British band, blatant lyrics, Patrick Fitzgerald was openly gay and in your face
10. Nespithe - death metal band
11. Echo and the Bunnymen
12. The Dead Milkmen
13. Teenage Bandwagon
