Upcoming Vacations You Have Planned and Will Actually Take in 2013 (as opposed to little to no commitment, and you’re just thinkin’ about going)

  1. Alaska - my 50th state!
  2. Vero Beach, FL. -friends are lending us their house again.
  3. Fairland, IN. - we’ve just finished a two-year move and we’re stayin’ home!
  4. Next month, a geological excursion to eastern Washington state: the Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail, Palouse Falls State Park, Potholes State Park, Sun Lakes - Dry Falls State Park (and this, too; cool images here), and the Channeled Scablands.
  5. San Diego Comic Con
  6. Seattle: Mariners game at Safeco Field, a new ballpark for me; and LeMay Auto Museum (#s 6, 1, and 4 are the same trip, in that order, I admit)
  7. DC this weekend for a Big Gay Wedding, then a trip to Biltmore
  8. Budapest, Zagreb, Dubrovnik: my brother’s getting married in October.

  9. Nothing elaborate, just a short in-state vacation. Taking our son to beach (may work in some fishing and dolphin watching) at Port Aransas, TX, then to a few theme parks in San Antonio.
