Ballet Movements - Spellings?

Can someone spell “plie” for me? (Pronounced plea-aye)…and feel free to offer correct spellings to any other ballet moves!

Thanks!

pliet?

I know it ends in ‘t’.

My mistake. ‘plie’ is right. I thought it was one of those french words that end in a silent ‘t’.

It’s plie with an accent aigu (looks like a little line tilting up from left to right) over the e.

Although it’s old french meaning did end in a ‘t’ (‘plaint’)

You can try here or here for a list of terms with proper spelling and descriptions, but there are no illustrations to go with them.

It depends how you’re using it, but it’s usually spelled plié. I have also seen plier, which literally means “to bend.”

Alias is correct.
