Oh yeah: I’m a little confused about which part of Cold Spring Lane you think is dangerous. Maybe I’m just forgetting somewhere that it goes through, but the road is pretty mundane.
Yeah, I was wondering too about Cold Spring Lane. And remember, I think everything within the city limits is scary; but Cold Spring Lane never struck me as too bad.
Maybe when you get into the south end of Roland Park, people come out and lecture you about “old money”
Seriously, Cold Sprong and Park Heights isn’t the height of fashon. I’ve never had any trouble there, but I can see how someone…nervous about city life might be on edge.
No shit. I think Nacho just stole the title of King Baltimoron from me. She made a damn good post. It should be reprinted for the tourists.
Hee! You know it, baby! Me and my Madras shorts rarely make it south of Northern Parkway, and even that’s on a day when I’m feeling especially brave! I admit it, I am a BIG chicken.
Excuse me, I have to go mix a Gin Tonic now and watch Driving Miss Daisy for the eighteenth time!
All I know is, when my car died at midnight on 83N, and I had to walk what felt like fourty miles up 83 in the rain (either that, or actually cross 83 to Maryland Ave) and then try to find a payphone, I was pretty scared. There were definitely some shady types hanging around, cruising by me slowly, and also screaming obscenities at me from the car windows. So I’m a little freaked about Cold Spring Lane. Perhaps it’s a Young Goodman Brown-type thing.
Is everyone attending ArtScape this weekend? Last night I enjoyed the artists’ booths and then caught Smokey Robinson. Tonight I’m going to enjoy the beer booths and catch Etta James (!!!). Tomorrow, I’m all about Ray Charles (!!!). Your best bet is to park on Charles and walk up several blocks to My. Royal.
Queen Baltimore! Somebody tell that dreamboat Martin O’Malley that I earned the title.
Hey! I heard from my work buddy who used to be a waiter there (oddly enough, his name is Louie) that they reopened. I could be wrong.
Well, the last I heard, they reopened (with different management, I think)–but with less-good food and a weak book selection.
Now, I haven’t been home in quite some time now, so I haven’t been able to check it out for myself. But I’m working off the word of friends that generally have pretty good taste, so…
The real shame of it is that it apparently went under just from crappy business skills; they had plenty of customers.
